Do you mean a sticky throttle pedel?
if your talking about the hesitation(which I do) when you step on the gas to accelerate you might wanna check timing, or pull the carb and make sure its jetted correctly, if you've done that and still haven't found the problem might wanna adjust the valves, prolly needs it done anyway.

Most things that will arrise now will be relatively minor and I would like to learn how to wrench on this old truck as problems come up with out spending to much at the mechanics. I look forward to learning the steps of illiminating problems. I am uniquely education in many areas except mechanics.....I am sure you know this story well....cheers
